The Journal for the Study of China’s Ethnic Minorities

The Journal for the Study of China’s Ethnic Minorities is an international and interdisciplinary periodical committed to bridging scholarly research results with the global public.  It is intended as a new, critical scholarly and public forum for inter-regional and inter-continental debates on both traditional concerns and emerging but pathbreaking vantage points in the study of the ethnic minority regions of China.  The Journal publishes thought-evoking scholarly articles, commentaries, book reviews written from different fields of the social sciences and humanities.  It makes a concerted effort to invite the contributions of scholars and development practitioners who are native to these regions.  It also features local narratives on the modern dichotomies and dialectics of identity and citizenship, locality and globality, heritage and development, and human community and ecosystem.  It both informs and challenges the global public with the currents of contemporary issues in western China and new, rising theoretical themes in the global interdisciplinary effort for the study of China’s ethnic minorities.

The Journal publishes three issues annually.  Its interdisciplinary editorial team consists of leading scholars from different regions and countries.  The first issue will meet the public in June 15, 2010.
